Diego Schwartzman got a hard fought win over Popyrin, while he didn’t play his best tennis, he was incredibly clutch and certainly produced a few miracles when he had to. Frances Tiafoe will be much harder though, seeing as he is much better off the ground than Popyrin and is able to serve up a storm, really stopping Diego from being able to assert himself in the return games. Let’s see what the Argentine has to offer at the 2022 US Open.
Frances Tiafoe got a tough win himself over Kubler, while it maybe shouldn’t have been that tough, he went through anyway to book an entertaining clash with Diego Schwartzman. While it won’t be easy by any means, I think Tiafoe will be feeling good about his chances here. He’ll be able to play some really aggressive tennis, and on these quick courts, his serve will definitely give him the edge, but it won’t be easy as he aims to advance to the fourth round at the 2022 US Open.

While I do like this matchup for Schwartzman overall as he’s able to defend very well and force Tiafoe to spray errors, these courts are really quick, and especially in the American atmosphere, I can’t see Schwartzman being able to tough it out in the end as Tiafoe looks to return to the Round of 16 once more at the 2022 US Open.
